I finally got my hands on a copy which I will be starting as soon as I finish what I'm reading now (which is awful. Blarg!) I'm glad to see that the general consensus is that this book is everything I'm hoping it is!

Great! Hopefully you enjoy it. It's definitely a...different, read. It's one of my favorite books by far, but it involves drug use, monsters, existential crises, and dimension jumping. There's also a scene that involves a flying, flesh eating mustache. So if that at all sounds like something you're interested in, you will DEFINITELY like this book.

I have such mixed feelings about the movie. I have such love for the book, and when they announced the movie I thought it was going to be the coolest thing. And it started out with such promise! I was even on board halfway through the movie and then it just sort of felt like it fell apart. I have this weird stance where I feel like I REALLY want to like the movie, but the changes they made, characters they cut, and plotlines removed just made it into something else. The real shame is in watching it to see the potential there for them to have made an AMAZING film but not do it.

SERIOUSLY. Like, I kind of understood Big Jim. I don't mean I agree with it, I just kind of understand that he was omitted in order to put more of a focus on Amy, but...

Yeah, exactly.
But even so, Amy wasn't even Amy, Amy in the movie was basically Jen with a prostectic hand. xD

I was so pissed! Molly is a SUPER important part of the book and then just...

The whole Bark Lee thing also kind of completely shot the idea of doing a sequel down. I mean...I guess they could, but they'd have to change that even more so.
